The cabinet that has been protecting the city for more than 150years is the Office of the Commissioner of Police. Established in circa 1856, Lt. Col. J.C. Boulderson of 35 th regiment of Native infantry took charge as the first police commissioner of Madras. Commissioners may change but, their role and dedication in keeping up their vow will always remain unchanged.
