Tamil Nadu Government realizing the importance of having its own unit to serve & tackle Natural Calamities and emergencies arising out of disasters had formed a special unit specifically for the disaster response & recovery in order to minimize the impact of the disaster, and named it as the Tamil Nadu Disaster Response Force (TNDRF) 2017.This TNDRF team was majorly involved in the rescue and management of 2014 Moulivakkam building collapse, 2015 floods, 2016 Vardha cyclone and 2020 Nivar cyclone. The team is actively engaged in all the State disaster management acts gaining appreciation from the State government and the public.
